Job Description - Web developer

Web Developer is a broad title. Generally, it covers the programming of Web applications that run on the server (using languages such as Perl and Java) and produce the pages with which users interact. There is less emphasis on layout and graphics than there is in the Web Designer role.

The Web Developer needs a deep understanding of the Web server software (Apache, IIS, Tomcat, etc.) and usually needs to have experience in database design and interaction (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, etc.)

Experienced Web Developers earn very competitive salaries, sometimes exceeding $125,000 per year.
